Blanche Lincoln Is Such A Victim :(
It must be really stressful coming from rich political families and doing your best to deny affordable healthcare to tens of millions of Americans:
Sen. Blanche Lincoln (D-Ark.) was a day away from casting a vote that could change her political career when she got a phone call from someone who knew what she was going through.
“I know you’re tired, but we need a glass of wine,” Sen. Mary Landrieu (D-La.), the fellow centrist who also had not yet announced her position, said she told Lincoln.
This just encapsulates the whole fucking problem. People in DC are so goddamn insulated and bubbled in that they feel like victims for having to, oh you know, do their jobs. And do it shittily and against the interests of those that hired them.
You know who could use a glass of wine? The 50 million people without health insurance in this country. It’s probably pretty stressful being them, and hey, they say a glass a day helps prevent heart attacks. That’s good, because the hospital stay for something like that would bankrupt them.
